Welcome to the St. Marks Comedy Club blog! We are a new speakeasy vibe comedy club located in the heart of the East Village NYC. This blog is dedicated to events that have happened in comedy history throughout NYC, the Country and the World! Each blog entry will highlight “What happened in comedy history on this date" showing you events from all over that happened in the world of comedy on that day and month at some time in the past. You'll hear about momentous occasions for big name comics like when Jay Leno was born, dates that some of our favorite comedy series aired their first episodes like “Def Comedy Jam" and accomplishments of famous comedy creators and directors.
